A Unique Experience
Have you been searching for a more fulfilled life? Struggling to overcome stress? Feeling uncertain about some areas of your life? Just looking for a week of true spiritual meaning, and encounters with others who are like-minded?
If so, then you are ready to experience a rejuvenating retreat with a theme that will inspire you. This is the 41st annual Big Sky Retreat, a yearly, non-denominational, life-changing week, in one of the most spectacular locations in the world.
As busy people, it’s easy to devote the majority of our energy to other’s needs; our kid’s needs, our spouse’s needs, the needs of our business, etc., while leaving little or no time to care for ourselves.
That is a stressful way to live — which leads to burning out (or at the very least dissatisfaction) if we don’t take the opportunity to focus on ourselves, rejuvenate our body, mind, and spirit, and learn how to live life and travel in a higher way.
That’s why every year a dedicated group of nine volunteer board members create this retreat: a beautiful week of learning and sharing; a week filled with new friendships, laughter, music, connection, emotional healing; in a location with spectacular views. It’s six days and five nights of sacred time, designed for us to pause and listen to who we really are and what is seeking to emerge in us.
Over these six days (it begins on Saturday and ends on Thursday) you will be given information and strategies for how to embody the ideas presented; you will learn principles that will empower you to move through life with more ease, grace, balance, fulfillment, and fun; you will be uplifted and thrilled by the inspirational music from Michael Gott and Karen Drucker and you will discover more about who you truly are.
Though some of these spiritual principles may be offered at other events, they are rarely presented in such a magnificently beautiful natural setting, or taught by such “giants” in the field of spiritual evolution, or with such soul-felt and powerful camaraderie. What you experience at Big Sky will help you gain control over your thoughts and feelings; it will help you find balance, and release you from the load of stress caused by the pressures and pulls of your daily life.
At this retreat you will:
- Have time to ask the big questions, gain clarity and direction on the areas of life where you’ve been uncertain.
- Enjoy new friendships while connecting with others who have similar spiritual interests.
- Infuse more fun into your life.
- Have a safe and loving place to share what’s been happening in your life, and heal from old hurts.
- Experience activities that rejuvenate your mind, body and spirit.
- Receive strategies and principles to empower you on your path to creating your highest and best life.
- Move through blocks that are withholding your success and transform that energy to move you in the direction of your dreams.
- Experience peace of mind through guided meditations and music.
- Enjoy fabulous food and great conversations.
- Sing, share in fun, laugh, and celebrate with new friends!
- And much, much more!
What To Expect!
By the time you leave this retreat you will, not only feel more energized, but you will be more effective; you will feel more balanced; and you will have more clarity on the big questions in your life.
This is the 41st annual retreat and many who have attended more than once can personally mark their lives by what happens for them at this event.
Please join us and give this great Re-TREAT to yourself.
A Spiritual Retreat
No other metaphysical Retreat comes close to creating the intimate and profound experience known as the Big Sky Retreat. It is a holistic experience that nurtures the whole Self — mind, body, heart, and soul. Whether you are just beginning your study of this philosophy or are a licensed teacher or minister, you will receive great value from this annual Retreat.
Only at Big Sky do you have the opportunity to sequester yourself with a dozen leading teachers and fewer than 300 participants for five days of personal renewal and spiritual growth. In addition to the spiritual nourishment, you’ll enjoy the humor and music that lighten every day of this remarkable Retreat. It is truly a unique experience! It is the Retreat’s intimacy that makes Big Sky such a transforming experience for those who attend it. The best testimonial to its effectiveness is the large number of participants who return year after year — some of them since it began in 1976.
Early risers may see moose on their morning walk before joining the “Salute to the Day” followed by T’ai Chi Chih. The rest of the day entails a morning and an afternoon workshop plus an evening speaker with ample leisure time scheduled between sessions. Before going to bed, many participants like to gather informally for some socializing. This is a great opportunity to deepen your connection with fellow participants and make life-long friends.
A Phenomenal Setting
Big Sky Resort is located on a mountain one hour northwest of Yellowstone National Park. Driving in from the Bozeman airport or from your home, you travel along the Gallatin River, which you’ll recognize from the movie, “A River Runs Through It.” During the Retreat you will have a chance to fly fish, take a rafting trip, hike, ride the gondola up the mountain, golf, ride horseback, go mountain biking, or work out in the Resort’s health club. You’ll also enjoy the Resort’s several indoor/outdoor hot tubs and pools. A free afternoon encourages you to enjoy Big Sky’s amenities any way you desire.
Big Sky Area Attractions:
- White Water River Rafting on the Gallatin
- An Arnold Palmer designed golf course
- Yellowstone National Park
- Grizzly Bear Discovery Center
- The West Yellowstone Imax Theater
- Lewis & Clarke Caverns
There are many choices of when and where to eat during the Retreat. Complete breakfast buffets are offered each morning in the Lodge dining room. There are several places within walking distance or an easy drive, either in the Lodge area or down the mountain at the village of Big Sky. For dinner, there are several nearby restaurants which offer a wide selection to suit any taste. Information will be available at registration.
Dinner Saturday evening, lunch Monday noon, and breakfast Thursday morning are all included in your Retreat package. These meals are planned so those who have special dietary needs or restrictions (e.g. vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free) can be accommodated.
Each room in the Huntley Lodge has a coffee maker, complimentary coffee, and a mini-refrigerator. There is a small local grocery store about 10 minutes away.
What to wear
Wherever you go and whatever you do in this part of the country, casual dress is accepted, even encouraged. We do suggest a sweater or jacket for early mornings and cool evenings. Some of us even appreciate having our hats and mittens, as it has been known to get into the 20’s overnight. Bring your shorts for daytime activities such as tennis or hiking, a swimsuit for the pools and spas, hiking boots, and clothing which dries in a hurry for the optional whitewater raft trip. Some folks bring more dressy attire for the final evening’s musical gala. At this time of year, the days are typically warm and sunny, 70-80 degrees, and when the sun goes down it gets much cooler. Big Sky Resort sits at 7500 feet elevation.
Other items to consider bringing are binoculars, water bottle, day pack, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
