Rev. Amani Malaika is an ordained minister with Centers for Spiritual Living and currently serves as the Senior Minister at the Albuquerque Center for Spiritual Living in New Mexico. In 2007 Rev. Amani joined the Albuquerque CSL community as a reluctant church goer, but desperate single mom. After falling in love with the Science of Mind and Spirit teachings, Rev. Amani joined the staff in 2014 and was installed as Senior Minster in 2019.
She has also worked in music around the globe as a singer and songwriter. Weaving together pop, soul, rock, jazz, electronica and sound healing technology, Rev. Amani graced stages from Los Angeles and New York to Ibiza, Amsterdam, and Mumbai.
Motivated to be an agent of change in the lives and hearts of everyone she encounters, Rev. Amani has taken her background in psychology, healing, and music into the non-profit arts world. Creating music-based curriculum, and programs championing and uplifting those in marginalized communities, Rev. Amani’s work has contributed to reduced youth incarceration and lower recidivism rates in New Mexico. She also helped provide access to instruments and music education to underfunded neighborhoods and youth in Albuquerque.
Amani is a wildly proud mother of her teenage son, and lives in the Rio Grande Valley where they steward a little piece of heaven on a multi- generational family compound.
